I installed version 0.9.20 of unfs3 on my DD-WRT flashed RT-N16 and it worked. But it is good to know that Oleg includes working NFS in the base distribution, and it sounds like NFS runs in the kernel rather than user space. Very nice... my next firmware may just have to be oleg.

Hello krajicek,

I guess you will have to setup optware and then install mailing daemon like here:

http://wl500g.info/showthread.php?t=2494&highlight=email+logs

Aftwards you will be able to write your own script to mail logs.

Volodymyr -

Recently, there has been a lot of discussion regarding potential DNS Rebinding attacks on routers. Tests on a number of routers including the Asus WL-520gU, show they are vunerable. ( See list: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0Aupu_01ythaUdGZINXQ5Vi16X3hXb3VPYkszNXM0YXc )

FW (firmware) including: OpenWRT, DD-WRT and PFSense, have also been proved vunerable to attack.

Question:
Have you tested the Asus RT-N16 (with Asus FW (v1.0.0.6 - v1.0.1.3) for this problem? Also Tomato and Olge's firmware?

Regards

NFS is build in
simply add directories you'd like to share

I've heard stories of users that use NFS, so I guess it works out of the box :)

Hi,

i bought RT-N16 recently and i'm using it with recent Oleg's firmware.
on my previous router there is an option to send router logs to email address.it sends every hour the router logs recorded during the previous hour.
wondering if there is similar option for RT-N16? i guess it will probably require some custom script so just checking if somebody hit on something like that?

thanks in advance

Can anyone confirm if NFS is working properly in the recent Oleg builds?

I am on DD-WRT firmware right now with the RT-N16 and am having trouble getting NFS to work. I would consider switching if NFS works on Oleg, especially as the firmware as a whole seems to be in much better shape than a month ago.

I am using the unfs3 optware package from the DD-WRT feed and it does not want to work. I keep getting a "/mnt/nas is not a directory" error on my client machine. This same client can mount my WDTV's NFS share, so it has to be the server or server settings. There was one other report of the DD-WRT feed's unfs3 (0.9.18) not working but the OPENWRT version working (0.9.20). Google doesn't have a single report of NFS working on the RT-N16 and DD-WRT (well except the guy that used the open-wrt feed).

Is Oleg using the kernel nfs server, nfs-utils or unfs3? My guess is unfs3 and hopefully a working version for RT-N16.
